ABN AMRO Belgium signs Febelfin's Women in Finance Charter

On Monday 15 November, the Women in Finance Belgium Advisory Board at Febelfin held its meeting. This was the ideal opportunity for the Country Executive Belgium and CEO of ABN AMRO Private Banking Belgium, Solange Rouschop, to officially sign the Women in Finance Charter. Diversity and inclusion are part of ABN AMRO's DNA, reflected in our goal of "Banking for better, for generations to come" and our "Sustainability" strategic pillar. Our core values of "Care, Courage and Collaboration" help define our pursuit of inclusive behaviour within our organisation, and also when working with our customers and stakeholders.

Summary
- ABN AMRO Belgium signs Febelfin's Women in Finance Charter
- Another step towards greater diversity and inclusion
As a bank, we want to have a lasting, positive impact for our employees, our customers and society as a whole. However, for some groups, opportunities are not always there for the taking due to a lack of support or encouragement. We are committed to equal opportunities for men and women, the LGBTI+ community, people with professional disabilities, people with bicultural backgrounds and vulnerable generations. In short, we are committed to diversity and inclusion.
And this is reflected in everything we do. Everyone who works with us should feel seen, heard and valued. That’s why we create a culture of "belonging". We help our employees make the best of themselves. And our customers experience an inclusive service from us, in line with their personal ambitions and values.
On 15 November 2021, we reinforced this ambition by signing Febelfin's Women in Finance Charter.
ABN AMRO works at the heart of society. Half of society is made up of women – who also need to see themselves reflected when they look at us. In our role as a bank, in our role as an employer, and in our role in society. Women in vulnerable positions need to be able to rely on our support. Women with ambitions and dreams need to find the right opportunities with us. And we want women who entrust their banking to us to be enthusiastic about our services.
Women in Finance is a network of more than 47 organisations who work in the financial sector in Belgium. Its aim is to improve the balance between men and women at all levels within the sector, and to raise awareness about diversity and inclusion. Members undertake to measure their glass ceilings, draw up an action plan and publish their results.
We are very proud to be a member, backing up our promise to take all the necessary actions that actually increase that balance and that awareness in practice. While there is a lot happening in terms of gender balance and D&I in our company, we recognise that we still have some way to go. Being part of the Women in Finance network will certainly drive our journey forwards, create value and help us give back to society.
