ABN AMRO MeesPierson strengthens local presence with new office in Sint-Martens-Latem

Sint-Martens-Latem, 10 December 2025 – ABN AMRO MeesPierson is strengthening its presence in East Flanders with the opening of a new office in Sint-Martens-Latem. This move is part of the bank’s growth ambitions in the Ghent region, where it recently also demonstrated its commitment through the main sponsorship of Indiana Hockey Club in De Pinte and close cooperation with their business club. With this step, the bank aims to increase its visibility in the Ghent region, intensify collaboration between teams, and welcome local clients even better.
The office at Kortrijksesteenweg 48 replaces the former location at Kortrijksesteenweg 123 and also takes over the workspaces of Ghent Zuiderpoort. The new building accommodates around 50 colleagues. In addition to being the daily workplace for relationship managers/private bankers, the office will also serve as the permanent base for wealth planners, investment advisors, asset managers, credit experts, know-your-customer analysts, and other specialists for the region.
By bringing all these services together in one shared office, ABN AMRO MeesPierson creates shorter communication lines and more direct collaboration. In this way, the bank’s promise as a personal expertise bank becomes even more tangible for clients in and around Ghent.
“With this office, we bring our expertise closer to our clients,” says Joachim Aelvoet, CEO of ABN AMRO Belgium.
“When private bankers, investment advisors, credit specialists, and KYC analysts work together physically, we can support clients faster and more comprehensively. For example, onboarding a new client requires sharing and evaluating a lot of information. Now we can make that process more efficient while also strengthening the quality of our service. The same applies to credit applications: our solutions are often tailor-made, and because our credit experts and relationship managers are now under one roof, we can respond more quickly and guide clients even better.”
On Tuesday, 9 December, during the opening evening, the bank brought together entrepreneurs, clients, and relations from the region to celebrate this important step. Star chef Marcelo Ballardin (restaurant OAK, Ghent) also delighted attendees with exclusive dishes and shared his personal entrepreneurial story.
ABN AMRO now has 350 employees in Belgium, 180 of whom work under the ABN AMRO MeesPierson banner, and serves clients from seven regional offices. Thanks to the new office in Sint-Martens-Latem, entrepreneurs and families from Ghent and the surrounding area can count on a strong local team, combined with the international expertise of the ABN AMRO group.
